Today a group of volunteers with various skills will put the first floor on the home. This is an incredible step for the project. With what started as a dream by a group of people to change the life of a family is becoming a reality before our eyes.
Ready, Set, GO!

The build is underway. If you have passed the property on Charles street in the past week, you probably noticed the large hole in the ground, or the sidewalk blocked. We’re pretty much right on schedule, and we have an army of volunteers ready to help out.
Important Information about the Build
- The calendar will be posted online under the tab “Build Calendar“, please check this page to verify you are scheduled where you think you are. Also, if you have not previously chosen a day, then please e-mail volunteer@ingersollbuild.com with your preference of date where the calendar shows “Volunteer Space Still Available”.
- The minimum safety requirement is that you watch Video #1 under the safety training tab.
- You will receive a call the week before your scheduled volunteer day to confirm your attendance and go over any additional details.
- And most importantly, please check this site as often as you can for project updates. You may also follow us on Twitter for project updates. @ingersollbuild (http://www.twitter.com/ingersollbuild)

Colleen Crnich and Lonnie Atkinson

Colleen Crnich, from Habitat for Humanity London, offered encouragement and support of the London Chapter at the Habitat for Humanity – Ingersoll Build Kick Off event held April 16, 2009 and provided insight into the ways that Habitat can change a family and a community. Colleen has participated in 16 London builds and still finds, as each new home is dedicated, that it is a powerfully emotional experience to be part of the achievement. At right is Master of Ceremonies for the event, Lonnie Atkinson.
